Flames run first 6K at Roy Griak

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The College of Saint Mary cross country team ran its first 6K race of the year Friday at the Roy Griak Invitational.

The Flames competed in the Women's Maroon Division and took 25th with 700 team points.

"It was good to get our first 6K race under our belts," CSM Coach Derek Fey said. "The course is definitely challenging and there were a lot of teams.

"We have some work to do as we progress to the second half of the season, but overall it was a good effort."

Augustana (S.D.) won the Maroon Division with 80 team points. University of Mary took second with 106 points and Wayne State finished third with 133. There were 37 teams in the Maroon Division.

Gianna Bomarito of Sonoma State won the 6K race in 21:44.2.

Chloe Inhelder had CSM's best time in 25:04.9 and took 127th place individually.
