Flames have 'fantastic' day at Defender Classic
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – "We had a fantastic day!"
Those were College of Saint Mary Cross Country Coach Derek Fey's thoughts after Saturday's race. The Flames took 11th place at the Defender Classic, hosted by Dordt University.
"All-time personal records fell all over the place," Fey said. "Doane got us by one point after they beat us pretty handily at their home meet. We were four points from a ninth-place finish in a really tough field."
Dordt won their home invite with 49 points.

Morgan Lawson from Grand View was the medalist in a 5K time of 18:02.66.
Chloe Inhelder (JR/Aurora, Colo.) had CSM's top time in 19:02.70.
