Flames sign Hagge for volleyball

OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary is thrilled to announce that Grace Hagge has signed to continue her volleyball career with the school in the 2026-27 academic year.

The daughter of Diane Hagge, she is a graduate of Des Moines Roosevelt High School who most recently played at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa. The 5-foot-9 Hagge will compete at outside hitter.

CSM Coach Rick Pruett is pleased to add someone of Hagge's ability to the Flames roster.

"Grace is a great young lady who we are excited to have in our program,'' he said. "Indian Hills is a top-25 junior-college program. Grace will bring experience and talent to our team. She is competitive and will have three years of eligibility left at CSM.''

As a sophomore at Roosevelt, Hagge led the Metro Division of the Central Iowa Metropolitan League with 45 ace serves.

She considers her high school volleyball coach, Mark Steinbach, to be her personal sports hero.

"He taught me not only how to play volleyball, but how to be a good teammate and person, on and off the court, and those are still core values that I carry with me today,'' she said.

Hagge's greatest sports moment to date was her junior year at Roosevelt when it hosted the first-ever Iowa Alliance Conference Tournament for volleyball and won the event, using "incredible team chemistry.''

She enjoys reading, swimming and outdoor activities with friends. Hagge said she was drawn to the CSM program as she learned more about it.

"I chose CSM because of the team culture and coaching style,'' she said. "When talking to Coach Pruett about the program, his confidence in the program and his team was obvious, along with the culture and values of the team that aligned with my values. The way that practices are run seemed very similar to how it was when I was in high school and I loved that about it.''
