Vondrak signs with Flames volleyball program
OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary is pleased to announce that Kate Vondrak has signed to continue her volleyball career with the school in the 2026-27 academic year.
The 5-foot-11 Vondrak is the daughter of Douglas and Jennifer Vondrak. She is a 2024 graduate of East Sac County High School in Lake View, Iowa, and played the past two years at Gillette (Wyo.) Community College.
CSM Coach Rick Pruett has high expectations for Vondrak.
"We are very excited to announce the signing of Kate to the Flames volleyball program,'' he said. "She will step in and play a big role for us. She is a tall, physical hitter and blocker who will help the Flames immediately.''
At Gillette in 2025, Vondrak was a key contributor on a team that made the program's first-ever appearance in the NJCAA Region IX Tournament, which is her favorite sports moment to date. As a senior at East Sac, Vondrak was a fourth-team all-state selection by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.
Vondrak enjoys spending time with friends and family, and said she chose CSM for a number of reasons.
"The coaches, the facilities and the sports and academic programs, along with the city and the teammates/people there,'' she said.
