Walnofer signs with Flames volleyball, track & field programs

OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary is thrilled to announce that Taylor Walnofer has signed to continue her volleyball and track & field careers with the school in the 2026-27 academic year.

Walnofer is a recent graduate of West Holt High School in Atkinson, Neb. She is the daughter of Joseph Walnofer.

CSM Volleyball Coach Rick Pruett considers Walnofer to be an outstanding addition to his program.

"Taylor is a great young lady who will fit right in to what CSM volleyball is all about,'' he said. "She will make a position change to defensive specialist in college after being a hitter in high school. I'm excited to have Taylor in our program.''

At West Holt, Walnofer participated in volleyball, basketball and track & field, all for four years. In track this season, she ran on the Class C state championship 4 x 400 relay team which set a state-meet record in 3:55.68. She considers placing third at USAV Nationals with her club volleyball team to be her greatest sports moment to date.

CSM Track & Field Coach Steve Gordon Jr. likes what he sees in Walnofer as well.

"Taylor is one of those rare athletes who has the ability to be a dual-sport athlete,'' he said. "She's smart, tough and willing. That's a formula for success, and we are excited to have her as a Flame."

In her free time, Walnofer enjoys video games, snuggling with her cats, watching TV, taking naps, listening to music and drawing.

She chose CSM because she "fell in love with the supportive and welcoming community.''
