Winder signs to play volleyball for Flames
OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary volleyball coach Rick Pruett is excited to add Emma Winder to the Flames squad next season. Winder recently signed her letter of intent to attend CSM in the fall.
"Emma is a great young lady that lights up a room with her personality," Pruett said. "She is a hard worker, very respectful, competitive and will fit in at CSM perfectly. She is quick, passes well and understands the game well.
"Her positive attitude is contagious and I look forward to having her as a Flame."
The 5-0 defensive specialist is currently a senior at Auburn High School. Her parents are Nahum Winder and Amy Winder.
Winder has played volleyball and soccer throughout her high school career. She was named academic all-state in 2022.
She considers Alex Morgan her favorite sports hero and says her hobbies outside of volleyball are reading, drawing, playing other sports and hanging out with friends. Winder plans to pursue nursing at College of Saint Mary.
"CSM was my college choice because the volleyball coach reached out to me," Winder said. "After talking with him, I decided to look more into what the college was. The things that I saw and learned from others were amazing. I have only been told good things about CSM and the nursing program. After my visit, I was set on continuing my education there."
