Caspersen, 4x800 relay qualify for national meet

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Five College of Saint Mary athletes have qualified for the 2025 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Marion, Ind., from May 21 to 23.

The 44th-annual event will be hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University. You can watch the entire event online for free at naianetwork.com.

The Flames have one entry in individual events, senior Claire Caspersen, who has qualified fourth in the shot put with a season-best of 14.64 meters (48 feet, ½ inch). Caspersen now has qualified in all eight indoor and outdoor national meets in her career. She is a five-time All-American, and has placed 18th, fifth and third in her previous three national outdoor meets in the event.

CSM also has one entry in the relays, the 4 x 800-meter relay. Freshman Olivia Elbert, sophomore Mira Fosmer, freshman Carly Henderson and freshman Kara Muller have qualified 13th in the event with an outdoor season-best time of 9:17.17.

The same four women earned All-America honors during the indoor season, placing fifth in the nation in a program-record 9:11.09.

The shot put will be contested at noon Central time on Thursday, May 22, while the 4x800 relay is scheduled for 5:10 p.m. Central, also on Thursday, May 22.
