Flames continue to raise bar

LINCOLN, Neb. – The College of Saint Mary track and field team turned in plenty of bright moments on Saturday in the Prairie Wolf Invite hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University.

"We had solid performances today,'' CSM Coach Steve Gordon Jr. said. "In fact, if this team hadn't already raised the bar and elevated their standards so highly, today would be seen as a very successful meet – which is exactly what it was. Learning how to properly handle our new normal is an exciting way to grow for the Flames.''

Some of the highlights:

In the hammer throw, sophomore Clare Ullery added more than four meters to her program record with a fourth-place toss of 48.32 meters (158 feet, 6 inches), which is now 31st in the nation.

Senior Claire Caspersen improved her outdoor season best in the shot put with a heave of 13.95 (45-9¼), which was good for second place and now ranks eighth nationally.
