Flames qualify for indoor nationals in program-record 5 events
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Seven College of Saint Mary athletes in a program-record five events have qualified for the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Gainesville, Fla., from March 5 to 7.
The 46th-annual event will be held at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe. You can watch the entire event online for free at naianetwork.com.
The Flames will have seven scoring opportunities, also a program record. They have double qualifiers in two field events. Freshman Imani Skanes has qualified second in the long jump with a season-best of 6.04 meters (19 feet, 9¾ inches), while sophomore Mikaiya Rodgers has qualified 13th in the same event at 5.80 (19- ½).
In the triple jump, sophomore Gozie Okafor has qualified eighth with a season-best of 11.81 (38-9), while Skanes ranks 15th with a best jump of 11.69 (38-4¼).
On the track, CSM has the first two individual distance qualifiers in program history. Sophomore Kara Muller qualified 12th in the mile with a season-best time of 5:08.33, while sophomore Olivia Elbert advanced 15th in the 1,000 in 2:58.00.
The Flames also qualified 10th in the 4x800 relay, with sophomore Carly Henderson, junior Mira Fosmer, Muller and Elbert running a season-best time of 9:17.85.
