Brown places third in 500 free at KCAC

HOBART, Ind. – Kylee Brown's third-place performance in the 500 freestyle highlighted College of Saint Mary's efforts on Thursday at the KCAC Swimming & Diving Championships at the Hobart Aquatic Center.

"The Flames swimmers are blowing it out of the water,'' CSM Coach Liz Germonprez said. "The energy is high, the team is having fun, swimming fast and supporting each other. It's been pretty amazing.''

Brown qualified fourth with a season-best prelim time of 5:20.05, then improved that season-best to place third in the finals with a time of 5:17.05.

The Flames grabbed fifth in both relays finals on Thursday. They were fifth in the 200 free relay, with Isabella Promes, Jaidyn Vanschoiack, Hannah Ferguson and Brown clocking 1:41.26. And they were fifth in the 400 medley relay with Vanschoiack, Brown, Ferguson and Promes finishing in 4:07.80.

Addison Miller (5:39.31) and Skylar Ned (6:08.69) swam lifetime bests in the 500 free prelims, while Ferguson added a personal-best in the 200 IM prelims (2:17.16) and Vanschoiack had a personal-best in the 50 free prelims (25.42).

Also in Thursday's finals, Miller dropped another five seconds in the 500 free for a new personal best (5:34.59) to finish 12th.
