Cortez Ceron signs with Flames for soccer

OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary is proud to announce that Monique Cortez Ceron has signed to continue her soccer career with the school in the 2026-27 academic year.

Cortez Ceron is 2025 graduate of West High School in Sioux City, Iowa, and spent the past year at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D. She is the daughter of Adam and Yvette Cortez Foster.

CSM Coach Jamison Parkhill is excited to see what Cortez Ceron can do in the program.

"Monique will add depth to our outside back position,'' he said. "Super excited to add her talent to our team and have her join us this fall. She is a technical player who will do great things in a Flames uniform.''

At West, Cortez Ceron played four years of soccer and one year of volleyball. On the pitch, she earned a variety of team awards for her offensive and defensive play. Her favorite sports moment to date was scoring three times in a game her junior year against Storm Lake after being moved from defense to offense that season.

Cortez Ceron enjoys spending time with family and friends and being outdoors. She said she chose CSM for a variety of reasons.

"I have family in Omaha,'' she said. "The soccer team has a welcoming and supportive group of girls. It is close to home and they have great and understanding soccer coaches.''
