CSM’s Brown named GPAC Defensive Player of the Week

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – College of Saint Mary is proud to announce that Jenna Brown has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player of the Week for women's soccer.

Brown, a junior goalkeeper from Omaha and a Westside High School graduate, earned the award for her outstanding play during the week of Oct. 13 to 19.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women's Soccer Players-of-the-Week

 

Women's Defense – Jenna Brown, College of Saint Mary (Keeper)

Jenna Brown of the College of Saint Mary is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Brown turned in her first career clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Hastings College. It was the Flames' first win over the Broncos in 17 career meetings. She made 16 saves in the victory, also a career high. Brown has overcome three shoulder surgeries to shine on the pitch for the Flames this season.

 

Women's Offense – Maria Zylstra, Dordt University (Midfielder)

Maria Zylstra of Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Zylstra, a sophomore from Sheboygan, Wis., helped the Defenders pick up a pair of conference wins last week. She scored two goals in the Defenders' 3-0 win against Briar Cliff. Zylstra converted a penalty kick in the first half and scored 10 minutes later to give the Defenders a 2-0 lead.
