Olsen signs with CSM golf program
OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary is excited to announce that Kaylee Olsen has signed to continue her golf career with the school in the 2026-27 academic year.
Olsen is the daughter of Matt and Amber Olsen and a senior at Gothenburg High School.
CSM Coach Keri Rodriguez said Olsen is a welcome addition to her program.
"I'm thrilled to have Kaylee join us in the fall,'' she said. "Within the first few minutes of meeting her, I knew I wanted her on the team. She's a good golfer with a solid work ethic.
"Beyond golf, she's humble, kind and smart.''
Olsen is a well-rounded student-athlete at Gothenburg. She's been a two-time, all-conference selection in golf, and also competed on the basketball team for one year and the tennis team for two. She also has participated in one-act plays, musicals, choir, speech, quiz bowl and pep club.
In her free time, Olsen enjoys spending time with friends and family, four-wheeling and having jam sessions in the car.
Olsen said her greatest sports moment to date was when she proved her high school golf coaches wrong.
"My goal for my junior year was to shoot in the 80s,'' she said. "They told me to maybe just be under a hundred. So I wanted to prove them wrong. I worked hard all summer. Then, the very first meet of the year I went out and shot an 82 and proved them wrong. I think this is my greatest moment because it shows my drive and resilience to complete any goal I have.''
Olsen said CSM immediately felt like home.
"I chose CSM because the moment I stepped on campus, I felt I had a place where I was wanted and appreciated,'' she said. "I give a lot of it to Coach Rodriguez. The amount of love and support I got from her, even though I was not committed yet, solidified my decision.''
