Sinnett leads CSM golfers at Lila Frommelt Fall Classic

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. – Twelve golfers teed it up for the College of Saint Mary at the Lila Frommelt Fall Classic.

The Flames had two teams – an 'A' and a 'B' – and two individuals participating in the tournament held at Two Rivers Golf Course.

CSM's 'A' team is currently in seventh place with a team score of 339 and CSM's 'B' team is sitting in 10th place with a team score of 370. The second day of competition is Thursday.

"It was a bit of a struggle for us today," CSM Coach Keri Rodriguez said. "But most of that was due to this being the first collegiate tournament for most of the freshmen.

"High expectations and pressure put on yourself can cause higher scores. They all kept it together mentally though, and for that, I'm very proud of my team."

The biggest bright spot for the Flames was Gabby Sinnett. Sinnett shot her collegiate personal best score of 79 and is currently tied for 7th place individually.

"Gabby did a great job playing in the zone and shooting her collegiate low," Rodriguez said.

Teammate Emily Faubel is also in the Top 20 with an 81 that has her tied for 13th place.

Other scores for CSM golfers were: Katie Freeman 88; Anna Moore 90; Erika Headlee 91; Ritzy Dominguez 91; Avery Campbell 94; Alexa Piecko 94; Amariyah Moreno 95; Anna Wilson 95; Julissa Garcia 98; Samantha Doughty 100.

"We're hopeful tomorrow will be better and give us an opportunity to climb the ranks," Rodriguez said.
