CSM golfers shatter school record

OMAHA, Neb. – Another round and another record-breaking day!

The College of Saint Mary golf team shattered the school record for a one-day score.

"We shot 322!" CSM Coach Keri Rodriguez said. "That broke the school record by 13 strokes!"

The Flames are currently in second place at the Peru State Invite, being played at Table Creek Golf Course in Nebraska City, Neb.

Iowa Western Community College leads the way with a 306, CSM has a 322 and North Central (Mo.) is in third place with 380. Peru State is in fourth place with 397 and Peru State 'B" is in fifth place.

"We're on a roll," Rodriguez said. "I'm so proud of this team. On a windy day and a challenging course, I'm thrilled with our tenacity."

Emily Faubel (FR/Milford, Pa.) and Tori Suto (SR/Enterprise, Ore.) led the Flames with scores of 76. Torrance Loudner (SR/Blair, Neb.) carded an 82, Gabby Sinnett (SO/La Vista, Neb.) had an 88 and Alexa Piecko (JR/Columbia, Mo.) finished with a 94.

"Collectively, we had 10 birdies as a team today," Rodriguez said. "We're looking forward to another solid round tomorrow."
