YANKTON, S.D. – The College of Saint Mary golf team held on to sixth place at the Mount Marty Fall Invitational Friday.

The Flames shot a 375 in the second day of competition for a two-day total of 736. Morningside College won the event with a team score of 667.

CSM's Tori Suto (FR/Enterprise, Ore.), who led the pack after the opening day, took second place individually. She shot a 77-85—162.

Also for CSM, Aly Anderson (JR/Treynor, Iowa) had an 89-92—181; Sammy Hemke (SO/Lenexa, Kan.) carded a 98-98—196; Erin Peabody (FR/Omaha, Neb.) finished with a 97-101—198 and Mary Morris (SR/Sweetwater, Texas) had a 100-100—200.

"This is a course where ball placement is everything," CSM Coach Keri Rodriguez said. "You can hit a good shot and still not get good results.

"I was proud of the team's effort. It was our first outing of the year and we had a couple freshmen playing. We're only going to get better."

The Flames return to competition Wednesday at CSM's Matt Goette Fall Classic.
