CSM bowlers move up at Leatherneck Classic
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Flames moved up a spot in the tough field at the Leatherneck Classic.
College of Saint Mary finished with 6,497 total pins to take 21st place in the two-day event. The Flames entered Sunday's Baker games in 22nd place with 3,903 total pins after Saturday.
"The ladies bowled good today," CSM Coach Corrinne Johnson said. "We averaged over 160 for all 16 Baker games which allowed us to move up the ladder to 21st place to finish out the tournament."
The Flames had Baker game scores of 168, 184, 190, 151, 165, 172, 146, 171, 168, 128, 179, 166, 127, 164, 158 and 157.
Judson University led the field with a pinfall of 7,688 after Sunday's Baker games.
CSM returns to action Saturday and Sunday at the MIBC #2 tournament in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The Flames are excited to compete so close to home.
"We'll go back to work on the lanes this week working on spares and preparing for our tournament at home this coming weekend," Johnson said. "After that we'll have a break before heading to Vegas in December."
