CSM bowlers finish eighth at MIBC II

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – Corrinne Johnson was proud of her team Sunday despite the Flames dropping a spot in the standings.

The College of Saint Mary bowling team took eighth place in the Mid-Iowa Bowling Conference II tournament. The Flames had a pin total of 3,351 after the five individual games Saturday and finished with a two-day total of 5,377.

CSM's Baker game scores were 117, 93, 135, 163, 116, 100, 122, 141, 120, 127, 111, 134, 133, 115, 136 and 163.

"The ladies bowled their hearts out this weekend," Johnson said. "We were fighting injuries and illness, but we hung in there. We couldn't hold seventh place, but we didn't give up and we fought to the last game today. I was proud of the team for coming together and working hard all weekend."

The Flames are now off until Dec. 7-8 when they compete in the Mustang Invite.

"We have two weeks to work on some things before we go to our last tournament before winter break," Johnson said.
