Flames end fifth in nine-team field

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – College of Saint Mary ended fifth in the team standings after the final day of the two-day, nine-team Mid-Iowa Bowling Conference Tournament here on Sunday.

"Overall, they bowled well,'' CSM Coach Corrinne Johnson said. "We stayed consistent with the games throughout the day, and we made our goal of finishing in the top five for the tournament.''

After Sunday's 16 Baker games, CSM finished the tournament with 6,574 pins. Coe College won with 7,545, and was followed by Waldorf University (7,023), Iowa Central Community College (7,019), Wartburg College (6,810) and the Flames.

Competing for the Flames again were Jennica Soar, Emily Merten, Hannah O'Neal, Leilani Param and Kaitlyn Dickmeyer.

"I am happy with how the team stayed positive and worked together,'' Johnson said. "We know what we need to work on this coming week to prepare for the Five Seasons Classic next weekend.''

The Flames head back to Cedar Rapids Saturday and Sunday for that event.
