Wyoming basketball player signs with CSM

OMAHA, Neb. – When Morgann Jensen graduates from high school this week, part of her excitement will be in looking forward to her future. Jensen recently signed to continue her education and basketball career at College of Saint Mary in the fall.

"I chose CSM because of basketball and the academic program," Jensen said.

The 6-0 guard is the daughter of Jilljean Worden. She's currently a senior at Laramie High School in Laramie, Wyoming. She plans to pursue a degree in education at CSM.

Jensen played basketball and volleyball all four years of high school. She also participated in track & field one year. In basketball she was All-State First Team, All-Conference First Team and also All-Conference Second Team and All-Conference honorable mention during her four years. She earned similar honors in volleyball as she was All-State honorable mention, All-Conference First Team (twice), All-Conference Second Team and also qualified for the all-star team. She and her teammates were two-time state champions.

Jensen says her mom is her favorite sports hero and that outside of basketball she enjoys reading, paddleboarding and 4-H. Her greatest sports moment to date is when she made her first 3-pointer ever in a varsity game during her freshman year.

CSM Coach Kirk Walker is excited to have Jensen joining the Flames next year.

"Morgann is a 6' forward who can play facing the basket or inside," Walker said. "Morgann is young in terms of playing organized basketball and it will be exciting to watch her develop her full potential as a player. Her versatility and athleticism in being able to play outside-in, attacking the basket and playing multiple positions is something we value in her game.

"Morgann will add enthusiasm, intensity and a winner's mentality to our program. We are excited for what the future holds for her at CSM."
