California basketball player transferring to CSM
OMAHA, Neb. – From California to Nebraska – Sienna Hundal is transferring to College of Saint Mary.
Hundal recently signed her letter of intent to continue her education and basketball career at CSM in the fall. The Yuba City, Calif., resident is currently attending her second year at Yuba Community College. Before that she graduated in 2020 from Sutter Union High School in California.
The 5-9 basketball player is the daughter of Jesse and Pam Hundal. She plans to pursue a nursing degree at College of Saint Mary.
"I chose CSM because I felt very welcomed and all my academic needs were met here," Hundal said. "I also knew this was the place I would like to continue my academic and athletic career."
Hundal and her teammates had a successful career at Yuba. In high school, Hundal was named all-league honorable mention and won many team awards.
"Sienna is coming to CSM after two successful seasons at Yuba College," CSM Coach Kirk Walker said. "Her ability to play facing the basket or inside on the boards brings versatility to our program. Sienna comes from a successful high school program and helped Yuba win their conference her freshman year – so she knows what it takes to win.
"We are glad Sienna has chosen to be a Flame. We are excited for what she will bring to our campus community, our team and our program when she joins us next fall."
Hundal says that outside of basketball she enjoys snowboarding, hiking, spending time with friends and family and playing with her puppy Benji.
