Palmer signs to play hoops at CSM

OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary Basketball Coach Kirk Walker has announced the signing of Reilly Palmer to the Flames squad for next season.

The 5-9 shooting guard recently signed her letter of intent to continue her education and basketball career at CSM. She is the daughter of Steve and Angie Palmer.

"We are excited for Reilly becoming a Flame," Walker said. "She understands winning and the type of culture it takes to succeed after playing at Elkhorn and Elkhorn North during her high school career. She has the versatility to stretch the floor with her shooting, play effectively with her back to the basket and is a very good passer.

"Her outgoing personality and ability to connect with her teammates will be a great addition to the team chemistry we are working to build. We are happy Reilly chose to become a Flame and are excited to have her join our team next year."

Palmer is currently a senior at Elkhorn North High School. She's played basketball throughout her high school career and also played volleyball and participated in track & field early on. Some of her athletic honors include being named academic all-state, all-conference, all-state second team and being on a state tournament team. She also holds the school record in free throw percentage.

She says winning the state championship in 2021 is her greatest sports moment to date. Palmer lists Michael Jordan as her favorite sports hero and says her hobbies outside of sports include coloring, helping people in the nursing home and fishing.

Palmer plans to pursue a degree in special education.

"I chose College of Saint Mary because I like that it is close to home, I like the coaches on the basketball team and I like the area surrounding the campus," Palmer said.
