CSM approved by KCAC for flag football
WICHITA, Kan. – College of Saint Mary has received official word from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference that its membership for the sport of flag football has been approved for the 2027 season.
"We are excited to join the KCAC for flag football and look forward to building relationships with the other schools who field teams in that league,'' CSM Director of Athletics Robbie Shay said.
CSM announced in May of 2025 that it was introducing flag football as its 12th athletic offering. In October of 2025, the Flames named Nancy Javaux-Major their first head coach.
Currently, the KCAC has 11 institutions who play flag football, including full-fledged Great Plains Athletic Conference member Midland University. The main season for flag football, which is 7 vs. 7, takes place in the spring.
In November of 2025, another full-fledged GPAC member, Hastings College, announced that it was adding flag football and planned to join the KCAC for that sport.
