CSM Dance Team takes 8th at Northwestern Invite

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – College of Saint Mary Dance Team Coach April Allen continues to see improvement from her squad – even if that improvement isn't always reflected in the score.

The Flames took eighth with a score of 66.13 in Saturday's Day 2 of the Northwestern Cheer & Dance Invite.

The invitational scored both Friday and Saturday separately and then combined the scores for a final overall mark. The Flames took seventh on Friday but finished with a two-day total of 134 to place eighth.

"I'm incredibly proud of how our team competed today," Allen said. "I believe we improved in multiple areas and am disappointed that did not show on scores."

Midland University won the invitational with a two-day score of 182.26. Viterbo was close behind with 176.23 for second and Grand View University placed third with 173.27. Other team scores were: Morningside 165.44; Dordt 148.94; Northwestern 142.76; York University 134.04 and Carroll 115.07.

The last time to see CSM's Dance Team at home will be Wednesday when the Flames perform at halftime of the College of Saint Mary basketball game. The dance team will compete next on Saturday at the Dordt Invite.
