CSM dance team competes at Grand View
DES MOINES, Iowa – The College of Saint Mary dance team competed in a pair of triangulars Sunday in the Viking Challenge at Sisam Arena on the campus of Grand View University.
In the first triangular, CSM competed against William Woods (Mo.) University and Campbellsville (Ky.) University, placing second with a score of 70.35. Campbellsville won with a 73.65 and William Woods was third with a 67.7.
In the second triangular, the Flames faced Grand View and Morningside University. Grand View finished first at 87.65, Morningside was second with an 82.40 and CSM was third with a 70.15.
For the day, the Flames finished with a combined score of 140.5, placing 10th of the 11 teams. St. Ambrose University was the team champion with a combined score of 185.8.
"I'm very proud of the improvements the team made with stamina and energy throughout the competition,'' CSM Coach April Allen said. "We know exactly what areas to improve upon and look forward to taking the next two weeks of practice so we come back stronger at the Northwestern invite.''
CSM will compete next at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, on Feb. 14 and 15.
