CSM dance team improves score at triangular

CRETE, Neb. – April Allen was impressed with her team's progress this week.

The College of Saint Mary dance team took the judges' feedback from Wednesday's dual meet and used it to improve their routine for Saturday. The Flames increased their score by seven points at the Concordia University triangular.

Concordia won the event with 82 points, Hastings College was second with 59 and CSM had 57.

"I am very proud of how the team competed today," Coach Allen said. "We improved our score by seven points from Wednesday and received positive feedback from the officials."

The Flames were told they performed "strongest" in the hip hop portion of their routine with judges' scores of 7, 7. CSM scored 7, 7 in the jazz portion and 6, 5 in the pom.

"We need to improve our synchronization and timing as well as our turn sequence over the next two weeks to earn a higher score at Dual Days on Feb. 2," Allen said.
