COVID-19 policies

HOME COMPETITION SPECTATOR ATTENDANCE & EXPECTATIONS

College of Saint Mary “Return to Play” guidelines are based on recommendations from the Douglas County, Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS), National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). The health and safety of our student-athletes, staff and guests is a priority and CSM will regularly review the guidelines as more information is made available at the national, state and/or local level. Changes can be made at any time.

Spectators for home competitions on the campus of CSM will be permitted under the following guidelines. The numbers of guests to watch a specific home contest mayl vary based on the venue and if the competition is played indoors or outdoors.

Soccer/Softball Field (Southeast Corner of Campus)

  • All spectators are expected to self-screen prior to attending an on-campus event. An example of self-screening can be found at www.cdc.gov/screening.
  • Social distancing of six feet of greater is encouraged between spectators for those who are not part of the same household.
  • Limited bleacher seating is available in designated areas around the soccer and softball fields. Significant spectator is available on the hillside for each field. It is recommended spectators bring lawn chairs and/or a blanket for seating on the hillside areas.
  • Only players, coaches, officials and authorized campus staff will be permitted inside of the playing area for soccer and softball. Spectators are not authorized to enter the player area.
  • Admission for a competition will be $8.00 for adults, $3.00 for students K-12 and GPAC student-athletes free of charge with a current campus ID.
  • All home regular and post-season soccer and softball games will be webcasted on www.csmflames.com.
  • CSM Security reserves the right to remove spectators who do not comply with the COVID-19 attendance guidelines.

Lied Fitness Center Gym (Northwest Corner of Campus)

  • All spectators are expected to self-screen prior to attending an on-campus event. An example of self-screening can be found at www.cdc.gov/screening.
  • Face coverings/masks must be worn by all spectators in attendance.
  • Social distancing of six feet or greater is encouraged while inside campus buildings between spectators for those who are not part of the same household.
  • Only players, coaches, officials and authorized campus staff will be permitted inside of the playing area. Spectators are not authorized to enter the player area.
  • Admission for a competition will be $8.00 for adults, $3.00 for students K-12 and GPAC student-athletes free of charge with a current campus ID.
  • All home regular and post-season volleyball and basketball game will be webcasted on, www.csmflames.com. This includes the halftime competitive dance performances during basketball games.
  • CSM Security reserves the right to remove spectators who do not comply with the COVID-19 attendance guidelines.

LFC Tennis Courts (Northwest Corner of Campus – Behind the Lied Fitness Center)

  • All spectators are expected to self-screen prior to attending an on-campus event. An example of self-screening can be found at www.cdc.gov/screening.
  • Social distancing of six feet of greater is encouraged between spectators for those who are not part of the same household.
  • The tennis courts are accessible from outside. Spectators do not need to enter the Lied Fitness Center for entry. If spectators walk though the building to get to the tennis courts face masks must be worn.
  • Limited seating is available on the hillside pathway west of the tennis courts. This will be the only designated area for spectators. Spectator will need to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets, bleacher seating is not available.
  • Only players, coaches, officials and authorized campus staff will be permitted inside of the playing area for tennis. Spectators are not authorized to enter the player area.
  • CSM Security reserves the right to remove spectators who do not comply with the COVID-19 attendance guidelines.
